اختبار الكلوريد في الطفله-Chloride Test Drilling Mud Procedures
The water- grounded fluid may contain chlorides from the base fluid(e.g. Sodium or Potassium Chloride), or may pick up chlorides while drilling. Chloride Test Drilling Mud is useful for determining any unexplained changes in water- grounded slush saltness, because an increase or reduction in saltness will indicate swab or water impurity. So It's important to have chlorides in drilling Mud.The equipment required for Chloride Test Drilling Mud
- Phenolphthalein index result
- Sulfuric or Nitric Acid,0.02 N
- Potassium Chromate index result
- tableware Nitrate result,0.0282 N or0.282 N depending on slush saltness
- Distilled Water
- Titration dish( white ceramic gauntlet )
- Glass shifting rod, or glamorous stirrer with attraction
- Graduated pipette, 1 ml x0.01 ml ladders
- Graduated pipette, 10 ml x0.1 ml ladders
The procedure for measuring chlorides is as follows
- Pipette 1 ml filtrate into a titration dish containing around 25 ml distilled water.
- Add five drops Phenolphthalein index result and if the index turns pink also add0.02 N Sulfuric or Nitric Acid( drop by drop), stirring the sample with a glass stirring rod until the pink color disappears.
- Add around 10 drops Potassium Chromate index result, turning the fluid unheroic.
- Use a glass rod, or glamorous stirrer with bar attraction, to stir the result continuously while adding tableware Nitrate result with a pipette until the unheroic color turns to orange-red and persists for 30 seconds( Use0.0282 N AgNO3 for chlorides below,000 mg/ l and0.282 N for chlorides above,000 mg/ l).
- The chloride attention in mg/ L can be calculated according to AgNO3
A larger water or filtrate sample volume should be used for checking fluids with low chlorides, as this will give a more accurate dimension(e.g. titrate with a 10 ml sample when checking the chlorides in blend water).
Chlorides should be around,000 to,000 mg/ L in swab impregnated slush systems.
